“Where the Wattles Grow” is an original acrylic painting inspired by the rich textures and earthy tones of Australian acacia tree bark. Layers of weathered browns create a natural backdrop for cascading sprays of classic golden wattle, bringing warmth, light and a distinctly Australian feel to the piece.
I painted this to study the acacia bark texture and of course included the iconic golden wattle as the feature botanical. Painted on a 40 × 30 cm canvas and framed in a pine floating frame.
